The Events Assistant -(TftLR) is a part-time, seasonal employee of LOGAN Community Resources, Inc. The position runs from September 2025 through May 2026 and supports the planning and implementation of LOGAN's TOGETHER for the Long Run inclusive track and field event. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit event planning, student leadership development, community engagement, and disability advocacy. The Assistant will help lead a high school student committee, support event logistics, and participate in outreach and fundraising initiatives tied to LOGAN's mission.
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Support the recruitment, scheduling, and coordination of the bi-weekly high school student planning committee.
- Help facilitate meetings focused on event planning, peer-to-peer fundraising, and disability inclusion education.
- Assist with planning and logistics for event day, including track and field activities, entertainment, supply coordination, and volunteer assignments.
- Participate in setup and breakdown on the day of the event (May 2026, exact date TBD)
- Work with LOGAN's Marketing team to develop content for social media and promotional materials
- Assist with community outreach to schools, partners, and sponsors to build awareness and participation.
- Help coordinate the Raise to 5K peer-to-peer fundraising campaign.
- Participate in monthly engagement activities with LOGAN's Wellness Program clients to strengthen connections between students and individuals served by LOGAN.
- Promote and represent LOGAN's values of inclusion, empowerment, and celebration.
- Expected to uphold the mission, vision, and values of LOGAN through attitude and actions.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for individuals with disabilities.
- Demonstrate respect, compassion, and enthusiasm when engaging with high school students and LOGAN clients.
- Participate in additional organizational events and meetings as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education
- Currently pursuing a degree in nonprofit management, communications, education, social work, event planning, or related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with high school students and/or individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Organized, dependable, and creative.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms
- Available to attend bi-weekly committee meetings (schedule TBD) and full-day event in May 2026 (date TBD)
