Plant Radiological Integration Engineer .

In this role, the engineer will support a cutting-edge nuclear or high-tech energy project by integrating radiological analysis and shielding requirements into plant systems, structures, and component (SSC) designs. This position will coordinate across engineering disciplines to ensure alignment between radiation protection standards, plant operations, and system-level design decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the integration lead between design teams working on radiological source term analysis, shielding, risk analysis, and plant operations Ensure alignment between design assumptions and radiological analysis across systems and teams Develop design guidance and procedures related to radiation protection and shielding Generate documentation for radiation safety, shielding, and related training programs Identify and communicate assumptions made by radiological analysis teams to ensure proper implementation Support optimization efforts requested by design and operations teams Lead cross-functional collaboration on analysis and design decisions Coordinate and review plant analyses, integrating outcomes into engineering deliverables Provide support for radiological licensing documentation, including Safety Analysis Reports Participate in design reviews for plant systems and subsystems Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline 10+ years of experience in radiological protection/health physics design or operations at a commercial nuclear facility Direct experience with shielding and source term analysis Proficiency in Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) or equivalent radiation transport code Strong background in multi-discipline and multi-organization design integration Familiarity with nuclear system designs or high-performance system environments Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills Proven ability to lead efforts with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities Experience with design work under standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001 High level of integrity, collaboration, and a team-oriented mindset
Estimated Compensation Range:
$75.00 - $110.00 per hour This range represents the estimated low end and high end of the compensation range for this position. All experience levels will be considered.
