Position: Manufacturing Manager Classification: Exempt Reports to: Phoenix Operations Manager Summary The Manufacturing Manager oversees all production activities, ensuring that operational goals align with company objectives and cultural expectations. This leader will set clear priorities, simplify processes, communicate openly across functions, and maintain an unwavering focus on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. As a key member of the operations leadership team, this role promotes continuous improvement, data‑driven decision‑making, and a culture of accountability and ownership. Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, customer demand, and cost targets while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Drive a culture of accountability, urgency, and bias for action across all production teams. Plan, prioritize, and optimize workflow, capacity, and resources to ensure efficient use of personnel, equipment, and materials. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to achieve seamless communication and alignment—eliminating silos and improving performance. Develop and empower team leaders and operators through coaching, training, and performance feedback, ensuring clear expectations and measurable results. Identify, analyze, and resolve bottlenecks or operational issues using fact‑based, data‑driven decision‑making methods. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing projects to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Evaluate and recommend capital investments to support process efficiency and capacity improvements. Maintain compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and safety requirements while fostering a proactive safety culture. Communicate clearly and consistently with senior management regarding progress toward goals, challenges, and improvement opportunities. Champion simplicity and process discipline — ensuring systems and documentation are practical, efficient, and value‑driven. Supervisory Responsibility This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment as well as a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a salaried, exempt from overtime, full-time position. Regularly work in excess of 40 hours per week. Travel Very limited travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Production/Operations Management, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required. Master’s degree in Business or Management preferred. 2–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations leadership. Demonstrated success managing teams in a high‑mix, low‑volume or complex manufacturing environment. Proven ability to lead Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives. Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and data analysis tools. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills. Experience managing capital projects and process modernization initiatives.
