Be accountable for GL commercial logistics services in North America, including Customer Service, U.S. logistics and commercial drug product shipments. Managing all aspects of warehousing and transport including Safety, Compliance, Quality, Service, Cost and Sustainability.
Build seamless partnerships between the GL commercial logistics team and other Gilead functions, including Sites, Contract Manufacturing, Global Trade Operations, Trade compliance and Planning so they are fully supported in all areas of logistics (warehousing and transport) globally across all required temperature regimes.
Partner with Logistics Procurement to select suppliers that support Gilead ambitions within commercial logistics for the region.
Build strong relationships with contracted providers to ensure that they understand and deliver Gilead priorities.
Participate in the deployment of the commercial logistics strategy within the region.
Ensure all services within the scope of the role are always audit ready and have appropriate BCP in place.
Manage the GL commercial logistics budget for both Internal Opex (~$3.0m) and external spend (~$20m).
Lead the GL commercial Logistics team of 9 direct reports.
GL Clinical Logistics Collaboration
Standardization of processes and systems use.
Seamless transition of Products from clinical to commercial operations.
Basic Qualifications High School Degree and Sixteen Years Experience; OR
Associates Degree Fourteen Years Experience; OR
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years Experience; OR
Masters' Degree and Ten Years Experience; OR
PhD and Eight Years Experience
Knowledge, Experience & Skills Extensive experience of Customer service and logistics in North America and international commercial Product logistics including across multiple temperature ranges.
Ability to manage internal and external partnerships, including interacting with senior Gilead and third-party management.
Proven track record and hands on experience with SAP S4 Hanna ERP, WMS / IM and TMS systems.
Experience in driving global process harmonization and standardization.
Proven track record directing multiple outsourced vendors and executing supplier relation management (SRM).
Proven track record in developing complex concepts, techniques, and standards within a fast-paced global logistics operation.
Extensive understanding of GMP, GDP, Quality, and regulatory requirements within the pharmaceutical sector.
Customs Trade and Compliance competencies.
Demonstrable strong leadership, decision-making and influencing skills.
A Proven track record in Change management and the ability to deal with the transition or transformation of an organization's goals, processes, or technologies.
A demonstrated history/experience of people-management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated and proven track record and a comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations. Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting, costing, and cost analysis.
