JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Master of Science in nursing required. Board Certification by recognized governing body for an Acute Care APRN (ANCC, AANP, AGACNP). Relevant experience includes prior Emergency Department training or trauma experience. Licensed and in good standing with the state of Arkansas as both a Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority. Licensed to prescribe controlled substances by the DEA. Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA. Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, TNCC. Working toward or possessing Board Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN). Clinical competence in Trauma, Emergency, and Intensive Care.
Experience
Relevant clinical competence in Acute Care Advanced Practice Nursing. Knowledge of diagnosis, evaluation, assessment, and planning for Trauma, Critical Care, and Cardiac or related acute diseases. Advanced provider knowledge of Cardiac Care, Trauma Care, and Cardiac Device Management.

This is a safety-sensitive position. See the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy. Must possess advanced provider knowledge of Cardiac Care, Trauma Care, and Cardiac Device Management.
JOB SUMMARY
The APRN-Trauma/Cardiology is a Clinical Nurse Leadership role in the Emergency Department at St Bernards Medical Center. Functions as a medical provider delivering safe, competent care based on clinical guidelines. Acts as primary ED provider for referred patients, including Tele-Cardiology and ED-OBS patients. Demonstrates teamwork, effective communication, and critical thinking. Deploys Cardiac telemedicine services in the ED. Responsibilities include acting as a clinical provider for ER patients, assisting with procedures and critically ill patients, leading triage, managing ED observation patients, providing cardiology services, and facilitating telemedicine and outpatient testing for cardiology. Must hold ACLS, PALS, NRP, and ATLS certifications.
