Primary Purpose Address and handle high‑end cases with serious injuries, complex coverage scenarios, and legal inquiries or disputes; develop strategies to bring cases to satisfactory resolution.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Review reports/forms, respond to inquiries, seek legal opinions, and communicate resolutions.

Handle high‑end cases with serious injuries and complex coverage scenarios.

Create action plans, determine need for examination, and gain client authorization.

Identify cases for settlements or redemptions.

Gather documents, coordinate with client designees.

Request investigations, assign to local counsel, and monitor performance.

Respond to plaintiff counsel, union, employee, or client requests.

Identify issues and formulate defense strategy.

Adjust accrued liability and approve administrative expenses.

Identify subrogation opportunities and manage the process.

Attend and participate in mediations, trials, arbitrations or hearings as needed.

Work with partners to affect early return‑to‑work.

Additional Functions & Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned.

Support the organization’s quality program(s).

Qualifications Education & Licensing Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience Ten (10) years of experience handling workers’ compensation litigation, including five (5) years of claims management or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Licensing / Jurisdiction Knowledge California workers’ compensation knowledge required; SIP license required.
