Pay Range:
$75,338.00 - $81,890.00 per year, plus excellent benefits.
The Center Director at Orange County Head Start is a leadership role responsible for the overall operation and management of an early childhood education center. This position ensures a high-quality learning environment for young children and families while adhering to Head Start performance standards and state licensing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, organize, and plan staff, child and parent activities.
Observe and monitor classrooms for compliance and prepare related paperwork and reports.
Implement programs that maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and Agency Policies.
Train staff on developmentally appropriate practices and agency policies and procedures.
Provide counseling to staff and parents regarding difficult experiences.
Act as conciliator for case conferencing to all families.
Communicate with community, school districts, and other agencies.
Coordinate parent meetings and trainings.
Act as liaison between staff and parents.
Maintain budget within accepted limits; track purchasing and all other spending.
Education Requirements:
BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field and at least a Child Development Site Supervisor permit, plus 3 infant/toddler units.
Experience:
Minimum of four years teaching experience in Early Childhood, preferably in a Head Start Program, and two years supervising teaching staff. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese preferred.
