As a Merchandise Planning Analyst at the RealReal, you will be responsible for supporting demand & supply strategies across multiple categories, with a focus on our retail channel. The role will be focused on unlocking consumer insights through data in order to quickly and profitably grow this channel. Strong communication and analytical skills are key for success in this role as well as being able to work independently and with a team. This person will report into the Manager, Omni Planning.

Planning Analyst, Virtual

As a Merchandise Planning Analyst at the RealReal, you will be responsible for supporting demand & supply strategies across multiple categories, with a focus on our new Virtual Inventory channel. Virtual inventory is a new channel for TRR which unlocks supply through our trusted vendor partners; the role will be focused on unlocking consumer insights through data in order to quickly and profitably grow this channel. Strong communication and analytical skills are key for success in this role as well as being able to work independently and with a team. This person will report into the Manager, Omni Planning.

What You Get To Do Every Day – Retail

Manage weekly business performance reporting for retail channel; responsible for sharing out with key stakeholders and adjusting strategy where needed

Support weekly reporting and recapping across multiple categories

Support the development of new reporting and ways of analyzing business related to the retail channel & program

Perform ad hoc analysis to support business needs and communicating risks and opportunities

Interpreting financial metrics to help develop recommendations and action plans to impact performance

Support pre-season planning efforts and in-season forecasting

Forge collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners including vendor, merchandising and pricing teams

Work closely with store team to help evaluate and enhance the customer shopping experience

What You Bring To The Role

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; business or finance degree preferred

1-2 years of experience in inventory management, merchandise planning, financial planning, strategy, or business analytics

Proficiency with Excel & Google Suite required, familiarity with SQL & Looker a plus

Strong analytical skills and proficiency in retail math

Ability to conduct and build ad hoc data analysis

Exceptional attention to detail, and organizational skills highly preferred

Team player able to work effectively and collaboratively across all departments to meet goals

Customer curious and dedicated to delivering an exceptional customer experience

Preferred Requirements

Omni-channel retail experience a plus

Manage discounting and inventory reconciliation for virtual channel and facilitating outreach to partners where needed

Support the development of new reporting and ways of analyzing business related to the Virtual channel

Perform ad hoc analysis to support business needs and shifts in season; communicating risks and opportunities

Interpreting financial metrics to help develop recommendations and action plans to impact performance

Support pre-season planning efforts and in-season forecasting

Forge collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners including vendor, merchandising and pricing teams

Work closely with site merch to help evaluate and enhance the customer shopping experience

The expected salary range for this role is $57,317.00-$68,952.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
