Job Summary The OSP Engineering Director will lead a cross‑functional team to create and review OSP designs and engineering documents to support the expansion of Ezee Fiber’s state‑of‑the‑art fiber‑to‑the‑home network. The director will also work to refine and develop new processes and efficiencies to continually improve the speed and quality of the OSP Engineering Department. The successful candidate will communicate with field engineering, engineering support teams, and construction resources to create OSP engineer designs and design documents. This position is highly technical and fast‑paced, with opportunities for advancement.
Essential Functions Strategic Leadership & Oversight
Lead and manage the OSP Engineering organization across assigned regions, driving excellence in design, documentation, and delivery.
Establish operational strategies and performance goals that align with company objectives.
Develop and maintain operational efficiencies across engineering and construction platforms.
Evaluate and approve OSP methods, standards, and procedures for official company implementation.
Operational Excellence & Governance
Direct the day‑to‑day operational and tactical aspects of multiple, large‑scale business projects.
Ensure production goals are met within defined project scope, budget, and schedule.
Review and approve engineering designs to ensure cost‑efficient and scalable build practices.
Lead initiatives to continuously update and improve best practices, permitting processes, field construction methods, and telecom products.
Advise senior leadership on progress through regular reports, metrics, and performance reviews.
Engineering Design & Innovation
Oversee the design and optimization of fiber OSP facilities using current industry standards and advanced engineering methodologies.
Review vendor‑produced designs to ensure strict adherence to Ezee Fiber’s OSP design and quality standards.
Identify and resolve route conflicts with existing infrastructure, utilities, and environmental constraints.
Analyze network performance to identify cost‑saving opportunities related to OSP maintenance, upgrades, and resiliency.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, develop, and mentor a high‑performing team of OSP engineers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
Assign work, monitor performance, and provide consistent coaching and feedback.
Build and sustain a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Manage relationships with third‑party vendors, contractors, and suppliers involved in OSP construction, maintenance, and materials procurement.
Partner with cross‑functional departments—including Construction, Network Operations, and Permitting—to align strategies and ensure seamless execution.
Represent the organization in meetings with municipalities, permitting authorities, and strategic partners.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, GIS or a related field; Master’s preferred but not required. 8+ years of relevant experience in OSP engineering, design, or construction, including progressive leadership responsibilities across multiple markets.
Hands‑on experience with ArcGIS/ESRI products and the ability to develop, analyze, and interpret spatial data.
Deep understanding of OSP network design principles, including fiber‑optic cabling, pole‑line construction, conduit systems, and field implementation.
Strong knowledge of FTTH and telecom industry design standards and emerging technologies.
Proven ability to manage complex OSP projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
Demonstrated success in leading and motivating engineering teams, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to executive and non‑technical audiences.
Strong analytical, numerical, and decision‑making skills.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and personable, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Physical And Environmental Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
Travel Requirements Must be able to travel up to 30% to project sites, corporate office, vendor meetings, and other business locations as required.
