Role Profile

We are currently seeking a DBA with SQL Server and Oracle experience. The DBA will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of database systems. This role ensures the availability, integrity, and security of critical data while supporting application teams with database design, tuning, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will also have working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Database offerings, networking, and hybrid cloud integration as well as Oracle database experience. This role is client facing and will provide support to implementation projects as well as presenting on client sales related calls.

Responsibilities:

Design, install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Databases across on-premises and cloud environments.

Perform routine database maintenance including patching, upgrades, backups, and performance tuning.

Manage database storage structures, users, roles, and security policies.

Monitor and optimize database performance, using tools such as SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Performance Monitor.

Implement and manage database security, roles, and permissions in accordance with company policies.

Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery.

Analyze system logs, diagnose database issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Work with developers to optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code.

Strong proficiency in T‑SQL scripting, query tuning, and performance optimization.

Hands‑on experience with SQL Server Agent, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

7‑10 years of hands‑on experience as a SQL Server and Oracle DBA in production environments.

Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c and later).

Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.

Experience working in Linux/Unix environments with proficiency in shell scripting.

Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, Networking, and Storage).

Understanding of Oracle database deployments on Azure Infrastructure (IaaS or PaaS).

Experience managing and optimizing databases hosted on Azure Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, or Azure Database for Oracle.

Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Azure Automation, or CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

Microsoft Certified: Data Management and Analytics (MCSA/MCSE).

Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and hybrid deployments.

Familiarity with other database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB) is a plus.

Knowledge of cloud migration tools and strategies (e.g., Data Pump, GoldenGate, or Azure Migrate).
