The salary ranging for this position is $150-200k/year
General Counsel We are seeking an experienced attorney to serve as the General Counsel for WSFP and its family of brands. This role will report directly to the President of WSFP, with dotted‑line functional reporting to the General Counsel, APi Group. In this role, you will provide strategic legal advice to the WSFP leadership team, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, managing legal risks, overseeing all legal matters within WSFP, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to navigate complex legal issues, all while aligning with the company's overall business objectives and goals. Additionally, you will be part of the APi global legal team and be expected to collaborate, share best practices, and proactively engage with that team as well.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Legal Counsel and Advice:
Provide expert legal guidance to the WSFP leadership on a range of legal matters including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, litigation, and regulatory issues specific to the segment.
Risk Management:
Identify potential legal risks within WSFP, develop mitigation strategies, and advise on risk‑informed decision‑making.
Compliance Oversight:
Ensure that WSFP adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including conducting compliance reviews and implementing necessary training.
Contract Negotiation:
Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts related to WSFP's operations, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and partnership deals.
Litigation Management:
Oversee legal disputes within WSFP, including selecting and managing external counsel, assessing litigation risks, and negotiating settlements.
Strategic Initiatives:
Collaborate with WSFP leadership on strategic initiatives, including new product launches, market expansions, and acquisitions, providing legal analysis and guidance.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across the company, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school
Extensive experience in relevant legal practice areas, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, compliance, and litigation
Deep understanding of business operations and the ability to translate legal complexities into actionable business advice
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a legal team and advise senior executives
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify legal risks and develop appropriate solutions
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to pass a post‑offer drug screen and background check

Expert business acumen; ability to identify, assess, balance and manage risk
Impeccable integrity, good judgment, strong analytical skills, and creative and practical problem‑solving
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively and appropriately with internal and external stakeholders
