Software Engineer (Python, Ansible, HPC Automation) - Fully Cleared

As a Software Engineer supporting the GALACTICTIDE Task, you will develop and enhance automation tools that strengthen the management of High Performance Computing (HPC) systems. You’ll design efficient, reliable solutions that reduce manual effort, improve operational visibility, and enhance system reliability in secure, mission‑critical environments. Your expertise helps build and sustain the advanced computing infrastructure behind national intelligence operations.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and sustain automation tools supporting HPC system management and infrastructure software
Use Bash and Python to automate provisioning, deployment, and operational workflows
Work within Linux environments using CLI tools to optimize and streamline manual processes
Integrate and maintain automation frameworks using Ansible for orchestration and configuration management
Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or Jenkins to improve reliability and deployment speed
Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance software to maintain operational stability
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure consistency, maintainability, and compliance with DevOps best practices
Manage code through Git and maintain version control discipline across the team
Minimum Qualifications
Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (must be active). We do not sponsor clearances.
U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas.
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus three (3) years of experience
OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus five (5) years of experience
OR seven (7) years of software engineering experience of similar scope and complexity
Required Skills
Linux command‑line and system tools experience
Bash scripting for process automation
Python software development in production or operations environments
Familiarity with Ansible for orchestration and deployment automation
Experience troubleshooting and debugging in Linux environments
Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
Git version control for source management and collaboration
Desired Skills
Familiarity with Datacenter Infrastructure Management tools (NetBox)
Experience with observability and analytics tools (Splunk)
Knowledge of Identity and Access Management tools (Keycloak)
Experience with secret management systems (HashiCorp Vault)
Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka)
Containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or containerd
Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
Compensation Range $155,000.00 – $205,000.00. The salary range reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as your experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of your background and suitability for the role.
