We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with specialized expertise in motor/motion control and electromechanical systems to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize advanced motor control solutions across various products and technological applications.This position is on the electrical hardware development team for the Molecular Imaging (MI) Business Unit located in our Hoffman Estates, IL facility. The MI unit develops Nuclear Gamma Ray cameras for SPECT and PET modalities.The position will be responsible for product lifecycle development of digital electronic hardware including concept generation, requirements definition, analysis and design, implementation, verification and validation. Position will also be responsible for supporting and collaborating with project / management, manufacturing, and service teams.**Responsibilities:*** Develops very complex material specification, schematic preparation and follow-up to ensure proper and effective implementation.* Develops very complex design, development, testing and modifications of solutions.* Guides explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of very complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data.* Guides communication of very complex technical and commercial issues. Develops recommendations for very complex new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements.* Concept Generation and Requirement Definition – Generating ideas, developing alternative solutions, determining needs for new products, understanding and eliciting customer wishes.* Design and Analysis – Simulation, optimization, and decision-making to support the evaluation and selection of alternative architectures and circuit implementations.* Implementation – Realize designs in schematics, Bill of Materials, PCB Layout, Cabling diagrams, VHDL code and control firmware as needed.* Verification – Verify implementation meets all design constraints including: Functional, Performance, Thermal, EMI/EMC, Reliability, Hazard and FMEA.* Validation – Validate that the design satisfies operational, physical, and intended patient use cases through system level testing and execution of patient workflows.* Manufacturing, Service and Customer Support – Provide on-going engineering support for designs released to production.* Skill Growth and Industry Awareness – Membership and participation in technical societies, regular reviews of periodicals in the field and a habit of continued learning.**Requirements:*** Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electrical or related Engineering field is required.* A master's degree in electrical engineering is a plus.* Specific experience with lifecycle development of digital electronic hardware* 3-5+ years of digital electronic circuit design* 2-3+ years of FPGA design* Experience with electronic CAD tools for schematic capture, and an understanding of PCB layout/packaging strategies that will safeguard signal integrity & circuit stability are required.* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to communicate information effectively to peers, managers, and technical staff from various countries.* Ability to convey ideas and concepts to a wide range of audience including the clinical community, product management and other engineers is essential.* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment as part of a team.* Produce excellent results with minimal supervision.* Strong analytic and decision-making skills.* Strong quality orientation and customer focus.* Experience with development of FDA regulated products is a plus.* Analog design experience related to digital systems is a plus.* Experience with Mentor Graphics Electrical CAD is a plus.* Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and derating techniques a plus.* Experience with test driven development a plus.* Occasional domestic and international travel required.**Who we are**: We are a team of more than 73,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries. . The base pay range for this position is Min $128,100 - Max $192,200Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
