Senior DevOps Engineer / Staff Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and flexible Senior DevOps Engineer to support a major initiative focused on internalizing infrastructure and deployment responsibilities.
This role involves a mix of traditional DevOps work and exploratory reverse engineering to improve documentation and system understanding.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and observability tools, and will play a key role in long-term platform support and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes manifests. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues across AWS services (EKS, EC2, ALB, Route53, S3, RDS, IAM). Implement cloud and security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC configurations, and container security. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to reverse engineer existing systems and improve documentation. Enhance monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK stack, and Fluent Bit. Support GitOps workflows and enforce best practices in deployment and infrastructure management. Participate in knowledge sharing and mentorship of junior engineers. Required Qualifications
Strong experience with AWS services and infrastructure, including networking and security. Proficiency in Kubernetes, including cluster administration and EKS. Hands-on experience with Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab). Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack. Understanding of GitOps principles and practices. Ability to work in a highly explorative environment and reverse engineer undocumented systems. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SaltStack or similar configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef). Background in SRE practices and performance optimization. Industry experience in telecom or similar environments (e.g., Comcast RDK). Familiarity with vendor collaboration and infrastructure transition projects.
