This role combines strategic oversight, team leadership, and collaboration with carriers and brokers to achieve business objectivesThe Underwriting Manager oversees the underwriting operations for commercial auto lines of business across multiple carrier programs. Responsibilities include managing and developing a team of underwriters, ensuring adherence to carrier guidelines, and maintaining profitability while achieving growth targets.
Key duties include:Analyzing risks and approving submissions within authority limits.
Monitoring underwriting performance metrics and making data-driven adjustments to strategies.
Collaborating with carriers to implement and maintain program-specific guidelines.
Coaching underwriters to enhance technical expertise and decision-making skills.
Building and maintaining relationships with brokers and agents to drive new business opportunities.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards.Ideal candidates have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of commercial auto products, and experience managing multi-carrier programs.
