- Takes histories, performs physical examinations, formulates a differential diagnosis and plan for selected patients seen by the inpatient Stem Cell Transplant and Hematology/Oncology teams.- Provides ongoing education to patients and families regarding transplant, complications, and side effects, including discharge teaching.- Assumes responsibility for maintaining own competency and continuing education in area of specialization and in professional practice.- Participates in independent and/or collaborative research projects in stem cell transplant.**Education:** Advanced nursing degree from an accredited school/college of nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. **Experience:** * Demonstrated clinical competency.* Background in research.* Research nurse experience or transplant coordinator experience.* Minimum 1 year of inpatient experience in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Stem cell transplant.* Critical care nursing experience.* Knowledge of electronic medical records.* Conduct physical examinations and health assessments.* Interview and obtain medical information.**Preferred Competencies*** Strong interpersonal skills and work independently.* Strong organizational skills.* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills.* Excellent interpersonal skills.* Work cooperatively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse setting.* Handle and relate sensitive information and work independently.* Excellent organizational skills.* Troubleshoot problems regularly.When applying, the document(s) **MUST** be uploaded via the **My Experience** page, in the section titled **Application Documents** of the application.The University of Chicago is an urban research university that has driven new ways of thinking since 1890.
