Highland,IL - USA**Position Requirements****Description**HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital Highland, an affiliate of Hospital Sisters Health System, provides proven-effective care to more than 35,000 residents in portions of Madison county and surrounding communities. HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital is a s mall critical access hospital performing routine low-risk surgery.
*Case Assignments*Bread and butter cases, no hearts/heads, no vascular.Primarily case mix is ortho, GI, and general surgery.Medical Direction*Shifts** Monday - Friday
7 am-3:00 pm * No Call!**Team***Leadership*Dr. Matthew Walsh, Regional Vice President - Midwest Region*Team Highlights***Requirements***Responsibilities** Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department* Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures* Pre-anesthesia assessment* Obtains and/or verifies patient consent* Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia* Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition* Performance of clinical intervention as needed*Requirements** M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine* ECFMC and FLEX* Completion of approved residency in anesthesia* Currently licensed as a physician**Lifestyle**Highland, ILHighland is a rural community of approximately 10,000 within 20 mins of downtown St. Louis. Highland o ffers a great public school system along with St Paul’s private school for grades pre-K through 8th grade.
