Opportunity Summary

The O&M Manager ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant’s natural gas combined-cycle equipment, including three Siemens 501G combustion turbines. This leadership role implements and optimizes maintenance strategies, mentors and develops staff, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The role focuses on continuous improvement, risk mitigation, uptime optimization, performance enhancement, cost control, and long-term plant success. Your scope of responsibility

Oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all power generation equipment, including Siemens 501G combustion turbines, HRSGs, and auxiliary systems. Monitor performance indicators, assess equipment status, and lead daily operations to minimize downtime and energy use while ensuring operational continuity. Develop short- and long-term operational plans to optimize performance and align with production goals and regulatory standards. Analyze data to identify trends and implement strategies that increase efficiency and reduce downtime. Plan, manage, and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including gas turbine components, HRSGs, and balance-of-plant equipment. Attend outage planning meetings, develop strategies to minimize downtime, and ensure timely, safe, and efficient repairs. Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, including runtime, downtime, maintenance costs, and manpower, and report findings to the Plant Manager. Track and report on maintenance activities to support future planning and audits. Monitor compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations (emissions, wastewater, OSHA) while identifying and mitigating operational risks related to personnel safety, equipment integrity, and regulatory adherence. Develop, test, and implement emergency response plans for equipment failure, grid instability, and hazardous material incidents. Personnel and Strategic Management

Supervise and mentor plant production, operations, and maintenance personnel; oversee work, conduct pre-job briefings, ensure task completion, and promote performance through training and development initiatives. Coordinate staff training programs, provide guidance, and motivate personnel to meet safety, quality, and performance standards. Conduct performance appraisals, oversee Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and provide guidance on safety, task completion, and operational continuity. Assist with budget development and management; control expenditures; coordinate procurement of parts and services; communicate with utility providers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to support operations and plant goals. Write, review, and update procedures to ensure safety, consistency, and compliance with industry best practices. Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager to support plant operations. Working Relationships

The O&M Manager reports to the Plant Manager and works with the Maintenance Manager, Compliance Coordinator, Plant Engineer, and Plant Administrator as needed. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Standing for extended periods; climbing stairs and ladders; working from elevated platforms; lifting up to 50 pounds. Power plant environment may involve confined spaces, hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and high noise. Protective equipment may be required (hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, FR clothing, gloves, etc.). Fitness for Duty

All personnel participate in the Fitness for Duty program, including a post-offer physical, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening. Work Schedule

Standard Monday–Friday day shift with occasional extended hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call possibilities. Some travel may be required for meetings or offsite activities. Compensation

Annual base salary range: $138,600 to $166,300, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent (experience may be considered in lieu of education). Extensive experience operating power generation facilities; focus on safe, reliable, and efficient performance of thermal and electrical systems. Strong technical expertise in power plant operations, system optimization, and performance monitoring. Ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime. In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and a track record of compliance. Experience in contract management and overseeing contractors to improve efficiency. Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory and company policies. Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, motivating, and supervising plant personnel; effective task delegation and performance management. Ability to manage shifting priorities and make decisions under pressure; proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to report on plant performance and collaborate with teams and external stakeholders. Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license.
