MedStar Health is looking for a CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center!
Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday 7:00am-7:30pm OR 7:00pm-7:00am
As a CT Technologist, you will operate diagnostic equipment to produce computerized axial tomographic scan (CT) images of internal organs for use by professional personnel. Explain the process to patients and interview for medical history. Instruct and assist patients in assuming positions for proper scan, and administer contrast media (I.V., oral, rectal and P.O.) according to protocols.

Primary Duties
Prepare patients for scan. Review patient records for orders, exam history, lab work, and allergies, and position patients on the scan table. Establish an I.V. site for contrast infusion and administer oral, rectal, and I.V. contrasts. Consult with a Radiologist prior to administering I.V. contrast for bolus I.V. injections. Monitor patients during injection for evidence of contrast reaction.
Enter patient and exam data into the x-ray computer system and perform computed scan images. Prepare reports and maintain records of service rendered, using the radiology department computer system to verify billing and quality assurance. Complete incident reports and anesthesia records when necessary. Report all technical problems to the supervisor or senior technologist.
Assist the Radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages. Inform the Radiologist of scan results when anomalies or abnormalities are visible. Schedule patient exams and revise daily schedules to accommodate emergency exams from MedSTAR, ER, and other units.
Clean and maintain an aseptic working environment for each patient. Film CT scan images and archive exams onto tape or optical disk. Ensure adequate supplies are available and replenish supply levels as needed.
Assist in the training and orientation of new employees and students. Complete all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, exam, and other necessary data are correctly entered and maintained.
Qualifications
Associate degree or one to three years formal training in Radiologic Technology.
Completed competency-based training in CT.
1-2 years of job-related experience.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) registration.
Basic Life Support (BLS).
This position has a hiring range of USD $39.25 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
