RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead design plans and technical specification production, permit preparation/submittals for water and wastewater projects (i.e. water and wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection/pumping).

Lead preliminary and final engineering evaluations, utility master plans and other various reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and permit submittals for engineering projects.

Manage and mentor staff on multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.

NC Professional Engineer License, or ability to quickly acquire NC PE through reciprocity.

7–10 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater design.

Technically competent, a team player and good communications required.

Participation in a Professional Engineering Society.

Provide design management to maintain the health of the project and client satisfaction throughout the life of a project.

Lead a project team, execute self‑directed activities, and provide mentoring to staff.

Conduct project team meetings.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in related field (not required).

Focused experience and completion of municipal engineering water and wastewater design through construction projects.

Technical committee leadership is a plus.
