We are recruiting a Principal or Senior Principal Algorithm and Modeling Engineer for our Rolling Meadows site. The position involves designing, integrating, and testing algorithm solutions, developing and validating complex models and simulations, and creating in‑house system models and software that characterize and analyze system performance. The candidate will collaborate with systems engineering technologists to support various contracts and research and development efforts.
Responsibilities • Design, integrate, and test algorithmic solutions for EOIR and RF targeting systems. • Develop and validate complex analytical and simulation models. • Write, maintain, and execute system models using MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support internal R&D and contracting activities. • Communicate findings and status through technical reports, briefings, and written documentation.
Basic Qualifications – Principal
BS (or higher) in a STEM field with 5+ years of related experience, MS with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
Experience as a Systems Engineer applying modeling & simulation skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and systems‑thinking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
Minimum Secret clearance with any customer‑specified clearance.
Basic Qualifications – Sr. Principal
BS in a STEM field with 8+ years of related experience, MS with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
Experience as a Systems Engineer applying modeling & simulation skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and systems‑thinking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
Minimum Secret clearance with any customer‑specified clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of sensors/antennas, optics, detection, and tracking in EOIR/RF systems.
Experience with CUDA, SysML, VHDL, OpenCL, or other scripting languages.
Qualitative assessment of complex algorithms.
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology.
Agile team experience; familiarity with Jira.
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
Salary Primary level: $105,400 – $158,000. Secondary level: $131,100 – $196,700.
