Role Summary This individual will support and may lead initiatives related to design and pricing of indexed and fixed annuity products, including product design, actuarial modeling, pricing, regulatory filings and support of sales ideas. The position will work closely with the L&A Solutions team, Distribution/Field Leaders, and Marketing to ensure new products and features align with the company’s strategic goals. The role requires an onsite schedule, in the office 4 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communicates efficiently and effectively, orally and in writing, with internal and external audiences.
Understands pricing practices, develops and oversees modeling to set appropriate rates, understand profitability, and analyze sensitivities.
Understands and reverse-engineers key features of competitor products.
Trains and mentors actuarial students/analysts as needed.
Provides support to other business areas.
Consults or advises on broader matters that may or may not be actuarial in nature.
Coordinates and reviews work of outside actuarial consultants.
Strategically solves unique and complex problems.
Partners with the policy forms team to review forms as needed.
Prepares or reviews actuarial materials required to secure state approvals.
Prepares or reviews product specifications and actuarial reports.
Provides and discusses pricing results and sensitivity analyses to senior actuaries and committees.
Prepares presentations of product features or actuarial results to leadership and stakeholders.
Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Reviews product marketing material as appropriate.
Reviews experience studies and sets pricing assumptions.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries with 4+ years of actuarial experience.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work with Distribution Leadership and multiple stakeholders to design and develop new annuity products.
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
In-depth knowledge of annuity products and benefits.
Working knowledge of applicable valuation, non-forfeiture, tax, risk-based capital and other regulations.
Self-motivated and result-focused.
Must successfully complete a background check (may include fingerprinting).
Preferred Qualifications
Indexed annuity pricing experience.
Solid financial modeling experience using actuarial software, preferably MG-ALFA.

Compensation Base Pay Range:
$93,750 – $137,500 USD. The final salary may be outside this range based on experience and other factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits:
Includes medical, financial, and other benefits (401(k) eligibility, paid time off, parental leave), discretionary annual incentive programs, and an at-will employment relationship. National Life reserves the right to modify compensation and benefits.
