SUMMARY: We’re seeking a Sr. Cloud Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions in Azure. This role requires strong SQL development skills and hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, data pipelines, and modern architecture patterns. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to turn raw data into actionable insights while ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
RESPONSIBILITIES: SQL Development & Performance
Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
Optimize T‑SQL scripts, indexes, and database schemas
Tune database performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks
Design and manage Azure SQL Managed Instance
Build and deploy Azure Data Factory pipelines using CI/CD in Azure DevOps
Work with Azure Synapse and Databricks for advanced analytics (preferred)
Data Engineering & Architecture
Build scalable pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SSIS
Apply Medallion Architecture principles (bronze, silver, gold layers)
Implement secure and compliant data practices, including encryption
Analytics & Problem Solving
Analyze data to identify trends and optimize processes
Build predictive and prescriptive models using SQL or other tools
Resolve production issues and support data platform reliability
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in a related field
5+ years of hands‑on Azure experience (SQL MI, Data Factory, DevOps)
8+ years of SQL development (T‑SQL, SSIS)
Experience with Azure Functions and .NET architecture
Proficient with Azure CLI and scripting
Experience with Medallion Architecture in production environments
Skilled in troubleshooting and performance tuning in live systems
Strong knowledge of data encryption and security best practices in Azure
Experience building predictive/prescriptive models
Strong communication and collaboration skills
BONUS
Power BI and data visualization experience
