About The Role
We are looking for a
Senior Data Engineer
to build the next generation of data infrastructure at a $100M+ tech startup in the data management space. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling systems that enable customers to manage, govern, and extract value from their data in real time.
What You’ll Do
Design & Build Pipelines: Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and streaming workflows that power data-driven products and analytics. Architect Data Systems: Build and optimize data lakes, warehouses, and real-time streaming infrastructure. Enable Analytics: Partner with data scientists and analysts to ensure high-quality, well-structured, and discoverable datasets. Ensure Reliability: Implement best practices for testing, monitoring, and observability across all data systems. Optimize Performance: Tune data infrastructure for speed, scale, and cost efficiency in cloud environments. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with product and engineering teams to deliver data solutions that meet business and customer needs. Mentor & Elevate: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and help shape engineering culture in a fast-growing startup.
What We’re Looking For
Professional Experience: 5–8 years of data engineering experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment. Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python or Scala, with solid knowledge of SQL. Data Platforms: Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lake technologies. Streaming & Orchestration: Familiarity with Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, dbt, or similar frameworks. Cloud Expertise: Strong experience with cloud-native data services on AWS, GCP, or Azure. Data Modeling: Understanding of data modeling, governance, and performance optimization for large-scale systems. Startup Mindset: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and a strong sense of ownership. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
