Position Title
Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist in Neurobiology.
Position Overview The Department of Neurobiology in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of California, San Diego is conducting an open search for Project Scientists (non-tenured, Assistant, Associate or Full level). UC San Diego seeks an experienced biologist in Neurobiology or a related field to carry out independent and collaborative research projects. Topics may include neural circuits, transmitter switching, genetics, cholinergic transmission, axon guidance, synapse formation, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Responsibilities
Design, manage, and conduct experiments and research.
Train students and other researchers.
Lead and make innovative and significant contributions to lab projects.
Participate and present at scientific meetings.
Write scientific reports, manuscripts, and grants for submission and publication.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Neurobiology or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral experience in one or more areas: neural circuits, transmitter switching, genetics, cholinergic transmission, axon guidance, synapse formation, neurodevelopmental disorders.
Experience creating or contributing to mentoring and research training that centers the identities and experiences of students from minoritized communities in the sciences, or detailed plans to accomplish such goals.
Salary Range Estimated salary range: $74,100–$195,000. Minimum pay is determined by rank and step. Salary scale can be viewed at the UC salary scale documents:
