Education Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.

Licensure/Certification Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.

Healthcare Provider CPR biennial.

Additional certifications (i.e. ACLS, PALS, NRP) for specialty care areas required upon hire.

Experience One-year Registered Nurse experience required.

Skills Proficiency in developing nursing plan of care, implementing effective nursing care, and evaluating outcome of nursing intervention.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Effective planning and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Strong analytical skills.

Proficiency in computer programs.

Skill in patient experience and service recovery.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Utilization of Nursing Process.

Assessment: Compiles database and formulates nursing diagnosis; utilizes physical assessment and interviewing techniques; anticipates need for intervention by other disciplines; determines priorities for patient care needs or problems; reassesses patient as indicated by changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Planning: Initiates and updates written nursing plan of care; incorporates information from nursing care planning conferences; coordinates with patient, family, significant others, and health team.

Implementation: Performs clinical nursing skills independently; administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments appropriately; initiates emergency procedures; delegates and coordinates duties of ancillary personnel; documents and communicates patient status.

Patient Care Coordination: Manages daily patient assignment; delegates responsibilities; coordinates activities with other disciplines.

Teaching and Quality Improvement: Develops and implements patient teaching and discharge planning record; participates in education programs; identifies problems and refers to resources.

Professional Excellence Model: Participation in RN 3 activities; serve as charge RN to monitor productivity/patient flow; precept new staff.

Pay Range $31.25 - $48.02
