Complex Litigation Associate - New York, NY
Fox Rothschild has an opening in the New York, NY office for a Litigation Associate with 4 to 6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of general commercial litigation, including alternative dispute resolution. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position.
Qualifications Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York. A license to practice in the State of Connecticut is a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.
Experience in all aspects of general commercial litigation.
Experience in New York State and federal courts.
Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery.
Experience drafting and arguing motions.
Experience taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions.
Experience with all forms of arbitration. Experience with construction and/or international arbitration is a plus but not required.
Trial experience is a plus but not required.
Large law firm experience preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The job operates in a clerical office setting. It routinely uses standard office equipment including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary.
Visual Acuity
Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position in New York is $240,000‒$275,500, reflecting factors such as experience, education, licensure, geographic location, market demands, and other business needs.
