The salary range for this position is $38.31 – $55.56 hourly. Placement within the range depends on experience and internal equity. For union positions, placement follows the collective bargaining agreement.

Description
The Radiographer MRI reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
Performs MRI procedures according to set protocols established by radiologists.
Evaluates the request for procedures and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate protocol.
Employs imaging systems, accessory devices, and patient positioning techniques to generate quality images.
Provides patient care throughout the procedure according to department and hospital standards.
Participates in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
Evaluates resulting images against industry standards and takes corrective action if needed.
Provides patient education to reduce anxiety and enhance comfort.
Performs imaging procedures in accordance with safe practice guidelines for MRI.
Performs preliminary interpretation, customizing procedures as necessary.
Notifies physicians of changes in patient condition or unique imaging characteristics.
Maintains flexibility to accommodate daily schedule and productivity.
Learn and become proficient in new procedures and software as available.
Documents procedures electronically or manually for accurate charging and tracking.
Sends acquired images to PACS system with correct accession numbers.
Monitors stock of supplies and maintains a clean environment.
Reports equipment failure or irregularities to supervisors and technical coordinators.
Distributes radiology outpatient surveys to enhance patient experience.
Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program (Diploma/Certificate of completion).
ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification, or eligible for certification. Must receive certification within 1 year.
CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
License with Illinois Emergency Management Department of Nuclear Safety Administration.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Radiography (ARRT)(R).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology.
