Position Overview The Services Architect – CIAM is a technical authority on both cloud and on‑premises IT systems. You will design and implement Okta’s industry‑leading cloud identity platform for our customers, focusing on the Auth0 product unit and our Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) offering.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Review and lead the gathering of business, functional and technical requirements for establishing an Identity platform powered by Okta for customers.
Work with customers to document common technical and functional requirements for specific solutions.
Support the creation of project plans to develop and implement the proposed solution.
Participate as part of the professional services delivery team to translate requirements to designs and provide technical leadership and oversight.
Assist in periodic customer health‑checks and project reviews.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
8+ years of overall IT/software development experience with solution design and technical architecture.
3+ years of consulting experience.
3+ years driving application architecture design.
3+ years of experience with IAM architectures.
Experience implementing cloud solutions (AWS, Google Cloud, Salesforce, etc.).
Knowledge of customer identity use cases for B2C/B2B (user registration, MFA, SSO, delegated administration, social identities).
Ability to work with CxOs and high‑level executives.
Experience leading discovery workshops to derive customer requirements and specifications.
Strong knowledge of security architecture, LDAP, AD, SAML, SSO, RBAC, OAuth, OIDC, web protocols (XML, SOAP, JSON, REST).
Proficiency in one or more of Java, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, React.
Experience integrating with on‑prem and SaaS products.
Effective communication to non‑technical audiences and customer expectation management.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Highly Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Okta expertise, certifications, or related experience.
Security and cryptography knowledge.
Experience with API gateways, CASB, reverse proxies.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, EC2, KVM, OpenStack).
Proficiency with open‑source development tools.
Familiarity with Git, Subversion.
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
Okta Certified Technical Architect, or Okta Certified Consultant + Developer.
TOGAF and/or CISSP certifications are a plus.
