Software Solutions Architect
to join a highly motivated team that will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of a new, critical satellite ground systems solution. The successful candidate will be tasked with two major roles: (1) Interface directly with the customer to understand project requirements and help architect SW solutions; and (2) Lead the translation of SW requirements into internal product and project development drivers, as well as help coordinate those development updates with project and product development teams. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that we meet project needs in an agile software development environment.
Key focus areas will include developing software and maintenance solutions in support of satellite telemetry and commanding, archive trending and analysis, schedule execution via mission planning interfaces, task automation, simulation, and other core infrastructure and mission unique capabilities of the ground system. The candidate will work closely with project development, system engineering, test, deployment, and on-site user support personnel.
Responsibilities
Articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms to the customer, users, and the development team
Support developing and maturing the project architecture
Support verification and troubleshooting of the technical solutions provided by the development staff
Support refinement of the progression of tasks to ensure on-time & on-budget completion per the declared development release schedule
Support the development and maturation of the CI/CD pipeline to align with the customer-defined methodology and environment
Support guiding the agile development lifecycle from a customer perspective, including backlog refinement, system demos, retrospectives, and coordinating customer feedback during Program Increments
Required Experience:
10+ years software engineering/development experience
Experience in coordinating requirements with the customer and then defining/architecting a solution to satisfy them
Experience executing software development using Agile methodologies
Experience supporting requirement traceability and verification activities
Familiarity with cloud-based (specifically Microsoft Azure) and Kubernetes-enabled applications
Familiarity with automated test scripting and tools (e.g., Bamboo, Gherkin)
Self-motivated and comfortable with working with multiple groups of developers, engineers, and testers
Familiarity with Configuration Management Tools (e.g., Git, Atlassian tools, Artifactory, etc.)
Experience with C/C++/Java programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming)
Desired Experience
Experience in satellite ground systems, specifically with real-time command and control (C2), ground communications, and antenna systems
Experience with mission planning
Experience with SecDevOps processes and tools (e.g., sonarqube, Fortify, splunk, etc.)
Experience with model-based systems engineering and tools (specifically Cameo Systems Modeler)
US Citizenship
Must be Clearable
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $150,000 $190,000
