Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation ("Company"), a subsidiary of Marcus & Millichap, Inc. (NYSE:MMI) is seeking an Originator. The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for sourcing debt and equity including permanent loans, bridge loans, and construction loans through various capital sources including commercial banks, CMBS lenders, insurance companies, private equity, and credit unions. The position is based in Salt Lake City, UT.

Key Responsibilities

Develop strong relationships with developers, owners, and third‑party origination opportunities.

Prescreen and qualify transactions prior to underwriting and marketing process.

Review offering memorandum and screen, structure transactions and prepare underwriting presentations.

Work closely with capital sources to secure favorable transactions for the client.

Work closely with investment sales agents to enhance market position and assist in generating greater revenue and market share through financing opportunities.

Attributes/Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.

Capital markets experience with a brokerage, investment bank, lender or principal.

Proven relationships with developers, owners, investors and direct borrowers.

Track record of originating, underwriting, structuring and closing debt and equity mandates.

Excellent due diligence, analytical, negotiating, deal structuring and financial skills.

Capability to negotiate term sheets and closing documents.

Ability to work successfully in a large brokerage institution.

Collaborative personal/professional style that advances a collegial partnered approach to meeting corporate objectives.

Creating and maintaining relationships with capital sources to achieve superior execution on transactions.

Expanding relationships with key market leaders, associations, and professional organizations to function as an active source of referrals to cement the Company as the real estate service provider of choice.
