Division of Professional Studies Imperial Valley Lecturer Pool 2025-2026 Pay range: Lecturer A $5,507 - $6,677, Lecturer B $6,221 - $13,224, Lecturer C $6,825 - $14,523, Lecturer D $8,593 - $15,211.

Description We are accepting applications for the part‑time lecturer pool. SDSU Imperial Valley is a branch campus of San Diego State University located approximately 120 miles from the San Diego main campus, on the border with Mexico. We welcome applications from prospective temporary faculty with expertise in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Public Health, Sociology, and other related subjects. All current and previous SDSU Imperial Valley lecturers must submit a new application each academic year. The application period is from Spring through Summer before the Fall semester and is valid through the Spring semester of the following year. Temporary appointments may be full‑ or part‑time, with part‑time appointments often made on short notice. The Fall term runs mid‑August to late‑December; the Spring term runs mid‑January to mid‑May. Summer Session opportunities may also be available. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year and are renewed contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continued availability.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in City Planning, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, Sociology, or Urban Studies.

University teaching experience.

In lieu of a PhD or Doctorate, a master’s degree in the relevant field and more than five years of supervisory experience.

Ability to teach in the assigned modality for the course.
