Assistant Professor: Computer Science Morgan State University invites applications for one tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Computer Science to support its newly established PhD program. Preferred candidates will have strong research in quantum computing, quantum security, and emotion and ethical AI. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, pursue a research agenda with external funding, and contribute to the university’s research, teaching, service, and student success missions. Candidates from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged.

Job Duties

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

Develop research in quantum computing, quantum security, emotion and ethical AI, and other computer science areas.

Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.

Provide service to the Department, School, University, and community.

Mentor students from traditionally underrepresented groups.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics

Demonstrated potential for successful teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and a strong commitment to teaching, interdisciplinary research, and cultural diversity.

Demonstrated potential for high scholarly impact through research and publications.

Demonstrated oral proficiency in the English language, as mandated by state law.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Computer Science is required. PhD candidates expected to complete their degree before the start of employment will also be considered.
