EHS/EMS Specialist
– Valencia, CA (Onsite)
The primary focus for this position is to support the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability programs at Advanced Bionics. The EHS/EMS Specialist works under the Sr. Manager of facilities to lead the Advanced Bionics EHS & Sustainability programs, ensure compliance with federal, state, local, ISO 14001 certification standards, and meet Sonova Corporate ESG requirements.
Responsibilities
Oversee AB’s EHS/EMSCSP programs and ensure alignment with corporate EHS&S goals, regulations, and Sonova ESG requirements.
Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders, coordinating environmental and safety communications.
Lead compliance initiatives including workplace evaluations, incident investigations, corrective actions, and ISO 14001 certification maintenance.
Deliver and manage employee training programs for EHS, Emergency Response, Workplace Violence, and safety committees.
Support sustainability efforts including carbon footprint reduction, GHG tracking, and strategic planning for energy, water, and waste efficiency.
Manage chemical inventory, SDS documentation, and sustainability reporting across internal and corporate platforms.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with HR and other departments to improve safety performance, reduce injuries, and drive continuous improvement.

Ergonomic Assessment
Kaizen events and A3 facilitation
GHG Accounting experience
Travel Requirement Up to 20% travel.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, sustainability, or a related field (preferred).
Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, QEP, LEED AP, and OSHA 10/30 are highly valued.
Minimum of 5 years of EHS/EMS experience in manufacturing, preferably in the medical device industry.
Strong data analysis skills with the ability to make data‑driven decisions.
Solid understanding of hazardous waste, air emissions, and water discharge regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
In‑depth knowledge of OSHA programs, safety standards, and GMP practices in FDA‑regulated environments.
Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with safety and LMS software is preferred.
Additional Requirements A minimum of 200 Mb/sec download and 10 Mb/sec upload internet connectivity is required to support remote/hybrid employee functionality.

Pay Range This role’s pay range is between $75,200/yr and $112,800/yr. The role is also bonus eligible.
