Carle Foundation Hospital is excited to add BE/BC Hematology/Oncology Physicians with opportunity to specialize in their area of interest in oncology to the Carle Cancer Institute in Urbana, Illinois. Physicians will practice at our main campus in Urbana, with one day per week at one of Carle’s Hematology/Oncology satellite locations.
Opportunity Details Hematology/Oncology Physicians will practice at our main campus in Urbana with one day per week at one of Carle’s Hematology/Oncology satellite locations. Training and interest in both Hematology and Oncology are required. Board eligibility for new graduates and board certification in both hematology and oncology are required. Candidates with experience and new graduates are very welcome; mentorship will be provided. The physician will work with nine other oncologists. The practice’s main location is in Urbana, IL with several satellite locations in East Central Illinois. The practice has radiation, surgical, gynecologic, breast surgery, colorectal, interventional radiology, urology, neurosurgery, head and neck, thoracic surgery at Carle Foundation Hospital. The Carle Cancer Institute is part of Carle Foundation Hospital and both are located on the same campus, allowing integrated multidisciplinary care. EPIC electronic medical record is utilized.
Responsibilities
Practice oncology medicine at the main campus and satellite locations.
Participate in weekly disease‑specific tumor boards (Upper GI, Lower GI, Breast, Thoracic, etc.).
Provide patient accrual for clinical trials; patient accrual to clinical trials is a job expectation.
Teach medical students and internal medicine residents.
Engage in research, including investigator‑initiated studies and collaboration with the University of Illinois Basic Science Cancer Center, if applicable.
Collaborate with radiation oncology, surgical services, and multidisciplinary breast cancer clinic.
Qualifications
Board eligibility for new graduates or board certification in hematology and oncology.
Experience in both hematology and oncology, or a strong academic background for a research component.
Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to work with an 9‑person oncologist team.
Eligibility to support H1B physicians via physician national interest waiver.
Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $575,000 – $750,000. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
