We have fantastic opportunities for Full-Time and Part-Time CT/X-ray Technologists (Overnight Shift 12am to 8am) to join our team.
Job Summary
Under the direction of chief technologist, performs Cat Scan or MRI Procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnose. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Assigns work to other staff technologists. Essential Functions
Patient and room preparation:
Entering patient data into RIS and other appropriate computer systems as necessary. Placing the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan to be performed. Obtain appropriate scout image for procedure. Error free data entry in computer systems. Room turnaround time of 5 minutes after completion of previous case (this also depends on other support services i.e. house keeping). Ability to work in parallel so that, nursing, medical, and technological staff are efficient.
Direct involvement during procedure:
The assistance at the side of the radiologist during biopsy procedures as needed. Constant attention to the progression of the procedure while in the control room, monitoring progression of biopsy procedure. Involved with operating injector when necessary. Error free sterile technique. Constant awareness of progression of procedure.
Obtain cross sectional images: This task includes the proper setting of protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist. Retake rate of less than 3 percent due to improper protocol and sequence settings or other reasons which are under the control of the technologist. Education and Requirements
High School Diploma/GED equivalent/college preferred. Graduate of a two year school for radiological technologists. Registration: ARRT. Licensed by the state of New York. Prior work experience, preferably in a hospital environment. Benefits
