Overview The Executive Director, FPA (US Controller) is a key financial leader for Menarini Stemline’s US organization and a strategic partner to US leadership. The role leads the US team, financial planning processes, monthly financial reporting, and analysis to assess business performance and resource allocation aligned with organizational priorities.
Opportunity Position reports in dotted line to the Oncology Global Head of FP&A (Global Controller) and direct line to the US Chief Accounting and Financial Officer. This hybrid role requires a weekly onsite presence in Stemline’s NYC office.
Responsibilities
Lead financial planning activities such as the annual budget, reforecasts, and strategic plan for the US Affiliate.
Lead monthly financial performance reporting, working closely with the US accounting and procurement team.
Prepare financial materials to support US Board meetings.
Quantify financial risks and opportunities for the top and bottom line against budget.
Report on key metrics for financial performance measurement and forecasting accuracy for the full US P&L.
Ensure financial planning submissions comply with Menarini financial reporting requirements.
Partner with Global Oncology leadership and US Affiliate leadership to achieve performance goals.
Reinforce financial planning and reporting timelines, policies, and procedures with assigned functions.
Recommend financial system applications to improve planning and reporting efficiencies.
Conduct cash flow forecasting.
Calculate intercompany royalty and R&D recharge with affiliates.
Guide the FPA team on system usage to ensure adoption.
Perform ad‑hoc analyses and present findings to finance and business leadership.
Participate with cross‑functional teams on ad‑hoc financial and operational projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
15+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis.
FPA experience in a growing biotech company is required.
Previous big pharma experience is a plus.
Experience in commercial FPA with strong understanding of US pharma/biotech industry.
Experience in R&D FPA is a plus.
SAP experience is a plus.
Highly collaborative with ability to navigate global finance and cross‑functional peers.
Hands‑on leader experienced in building and coaching a high‑performing US FPA team.
Capable of handling pressure and tight deadlines.
Strong work ethic to ensure financial and HR compliance.
Benefits & Compensation Base Salary Range: $245,000 – $325,000. Menarini Stemline offers generous compensation and benefits including Fidelity 401(k) with company match, PPO and HDHP insurance plans, company‑paid Basic Life & AD&D insurance, and pre‑tax FSA/HSA programs.
