You will be a Lead Software Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and manufacturing precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries.

As a Software Engineer at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of software professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world’s most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. We are a matrix engineering and technology organization so you will touch multiple programs over your career.

What You Will Be Doing

Lead/Develop Embedded Software

Integrate features/algorithms into C/C++ applications

Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities

Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.

Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.

Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - Must have a Final Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications

Must currently hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position

BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or related field

Ada software development

Embedded real-time software development

MATLAB/Simulink

Familiarity with hardware interfaces, bus protocols, and analog/digital signaling

Hands‑on experience related to software/hardware testing

Desired Skills

MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or related field

Agile development process

Git and/or GitLab: configuration management / version control

Automated testing

Jira - issue tracking

Experience with Python and C++

Experience working with Ethernet network security mechanisms

Experience with device driver and BSPs

Experience with VxWorks

Technical document development

Technical review presentation development and delivery

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
