Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.

Overview We're building a world-class people analytics function and need a People Analytics Scientist to drive advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and strategic workforce insights. You'll build models that predict turnover risk, provide competitor intelligence, identify performance patterns, inform pay equity, and shape workforce planning decisions. This role reports to our head of Talent Development & Analytics to ensure analytics drive business impact.

Responsibilities

Build predictive models for turnover risk, performance, engagement, and promotion readiness

Conduct advanced analytics projects including compensation equity analysis, organizational network analysis, workforce planning scenarios, and succession planning

Partner on AI adoption, evaluation, and automation opportunities within people analytics and HR processes

Design people research studies using survey, performance, and organizational data

Develop methodologies for measuring team member experience, retention drivers, and organizational effectiveness

Partner with leadership to translate analytical findings into strategic recommendations and intervention strategies

Other ad hoc strategic data projects as needed

Build team analytics capabilities

Required

6+ years experience in people analytics, data science, or organizational psychology

Advanced statistical modeling and machine learning in R or Python

Experience with survey design, psychometrics, and employee research

Proven ability presenting complex analytics to senior executives

Master's degree in I-O Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Desired

PhD in I-O Psychology, Statistics, or quantitative field

Experience building HR predictive models (attrition, performance, engagement)

Experience implementing and/or evaluating the effectiveness of AI solutions in HR or analytics contexts

Compensation analysis and pay equity experience

Prior mentoring or management experience

Thought leadership through publications or conferences

Additional Information Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $138,000 - $213,200/yr

The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
