The Senior Associate, Data Analytics (DA) offers a unique opportunity to work on a team that provides transformative insights and solutions for internal and external clients across the business lifecycle. The DA team supports clients through sophisticated data strategies, advanced analytics and actionable intelligence to drive decision‑making and operational excellence. This Senior Associate, DA will report to the Vice President of DA and focus on developing internal data‑driven solutions, supporting critical initiatives, maintaining cloud data warehouses, creating data visualisations and advancing automation efforts across practice lines. This Senior Associate, DA will build technical and business acumen and work closely with senior leaders while gaining exposure to diverse projects and industries. Responsibilities
Create high‑impact presentations and deliverables for internal and client‑facing stakeholders (management team, Board of Directors, Practice Line Leaders, investors, etc.)
Conduct data analyses, including descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics, to uncover insights and drive strategic recommendations for internal and client‑facing stakeholders
Collaborate with senior personnel at Portage Point to deliver tailored data and analytics solutions that address complex business challenges across various client engagements
Assist in evaluating and improving client’s data infrastructure, governance and analytics capabilities to enhance operational efficiency and decision‑making
Develop and maintain internal data pipelines, models and dashboards using SQL, Python and Power BI to support key decision‑making processes
Maintain Power Automate and Power Apps driven solutions, recommend and implement necessary changes
Support internal financial and operational model development, including dynamic KPI dashboards and advanced reporting tools
Conduct due diligence and market research to support business development and client engagement
Support internal trainings and best practice sharing
Support business development and client relationship efforts
Support talent acquisition and firm‑building initiatives
Contribute to a high‑performing, inclusive and values‑driven culture
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, statistics, mathematics or other STEM‑related field from a top undergraduate program
Located or willing to relocate to Chicago, Dallas or New York
Invested in a team‑based culture and motivated to collaborate in office four days per week
Two plus years of experience in data analytics, consulting or a related field with a proven ability to develop and implement data‑driven solutions
Proficiency in SQL and Power BI, with demonstrated ability to create and maintain robust data models and visualisations
Experience in Power Apps and Power Automate with the ability to create and maintain simple workflows and applications
Python proficiency strongly preferred but not required
Strong analytical skills, including experience with data cleaning, transformation and analysis
Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑ready presentation and reporting skills
Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast‑moving teams
High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
Track record of success in high‑pressure, client‑facing environments
$145,000 - $165,000 a year
In accordance with pay transparency laws in the City of New York and the State of California, Portage Point provides a good‑faith cash compensation range for this position. This range represents the cash compensation (base plus bonus) that the firm reasonably expects to pay upon hire, based on good‑faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. The final compensation within this range will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, education, training, experience and location. In addition to cash compensation, Portage Point may offer comprehensive benefits and equity participation, which are not reflected in the pay range above.
