Atrium Health Levine Cancer is a unique institution designed with the innovative vision to deliver outstanding cancer care across the Carolinas, building upon its strong network of affiliated hospitals and providers. At AHLC, there are about 100 cancer doctors experienced in treating the full spectrum of solid tumor and blood cancers. With training from some of the nation’s best cancer programs and expertise in treating even the rarest and most challenging cases, our specialists have the knowledge and skill needed to best treat our patients.

The Department of Solid Tumor Oncology and Investigational Therapeutics is seeking an experienced, board-certified medical oncologist to serve as the Chief of the Phase I Section. This leadership role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of Phase I medical oncologists and oversee two Phase I units in Charlotte, NC. The Chief will be responsible for advancing Phase I clinical trials across multiple disciplines, ensuring that these trials are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines, and providing leadership and mentorship to faculty involved in Phase I clinical trials.

Highlights

Providing strategic leadership to design and implement innovative trials of promising anticancer agents.

Developing strong collaborations with pharmaceutical companies to bridge cutting-edge therapies to patients.

Managing an outpatient practice in solid tumor oncology; disease specific expertise in melanoma or renal cell is desired but not limited to these areas.

Teaching responsibilities, including oversight of trainees during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, in alignment with the educational programs of the Department.

Participating in the coverage of the inpatient solid tumor consult service, shared among the solid tumor oncology attendings (weekday and weekend hospital coverage).

Training and/or Experience Required

BE/BC hematologist/oncologist physician
