Position Overview The new Division Director will lead and oversee:
Clinical operations , ensuring excellence in trauma, emergency general surgery, burns, and critical care
Education and training
for faculty, residents, Advanced Practice Providers, and medical students
Research and academic initiatives , fostering growth and innovation in the field
Strategic development , working with the Chair and institutional leadership to expand MetroHealths trauma presence regionally and nationally
Division Highlights
18 full-time faculty
supported by Advanced Practice Providers, residents, and medical students
12,000+ trauma activations annually , with
2,000+ trauma admissions
to the Level I center
Partnerships with
three affiliated hospitals
to enhance trauma care across the region
Candidate Requirements
Board certification
in
General Surgery
and
Surgical Critical Care
Eligible for medical licensure
in the state of Ohio
7+ years of experience
post‑training preferred
Strong
clinical research background
and a
national presence
in the field
Eligible for appointment at the
Associate or Full Professor level
at Case Western Reserve University
Demonstrated
