Description Job Description: The Taos-Picuris Indian Health Center in Taos, NM is hiring certified Medical Laboratory Technologists (MT, MLS, CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) for a full-time contract opportunity. This role supports the Indian Health Service in delivering high-quality laboratory testing that directly impacts patient care. You will join a collaborative, mission-driven team in a modern outpatient setting serving a tribal population. Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist / Clinical Lab Scientist (Contract) Location: Taos-Picuris Indian Health Center Address: 1090 Goat Springs Rd, Taos, NM 87571 Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Government Contract (up to 1 year, with potential extensions) Facility Type: Outpatient Clinic – Indian Health Service (IHS) Schedule and Compensation: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No weekends or federal holidays Competitive pay and benefits Up to 1-year contract with possible extension Key Responsibilities: Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, serology, and phlebotomy Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers Run quality control procedures and ensure compliance with lab standards Accurately interpret and report test results using sound professional judgment Document and maintain lab records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Provide timely support to medical providers by ensuring reliable laboratory data Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment and follow all safety protocols Additional Duties: Other job-related duties may be assigned by supervisors as needed. Flexibility and adaptability to clinic needs are expected. We look forward to speaking with you. #PBHS #LinkedIn #CLS #MLT #TravelLaboratoryTech Requirements Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field (minimum) Bachelor’s degree preferred Certification through ASCP or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a clinical or hospital lab setting Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a federal background investigation Must provide immunization records and meet IHS health requirements Preferred Qualifications: Prior Indian Health Service or Tribal Health experience Previous travel contract experience Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and EHR systems Experience in rural healthcare environments and multicultural settings
