About the Role The Director, Product Management & Operations – Online Outlet will lead the digital product strategy, automation roadmap, and operational execution for WSI’s growing multi‑brand online outlet business. This is a transformational leadership role designed for a hands‑on innovator who can bridge technology, data, and retail operations to reimagine the outlet experience at scale.
Reporting to the VP of Product & Analytics, this leader will own the Online Outlet P&L and drive measurable impact across revenue growth, margin optimization, and efficiency. They will partner deeply with engineering, data science, merchandising, and supply chain teams to design intelligent systems that automate and optimize product setup, pricing, and inventory flow across brands.
The ideal candidate combines product management expertise, technical fluency, and operational leadership. They are both strategic and execution‑focused — able to define a bold vision while building the systems, processes, and cross‑functional partnerships required to make it real.
Responsibilities Digital Commerce Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute a cross‑brand strategy for WSI’s Online Outlet that balances customer experience, operational efficiency, and profitability.
Drive the P&L for the Online Outlet business — accountable for growth, margin, and cost optimization.
Define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the outlet’s growth and evolution, aligned with WSI’s broader digital and product strategy.
Act as a business owner and thought leader, driving innovation and measurable business impact.
Champion a test‑and‑learn culture, using data and experimentation to continuously improve outcomes.
AI‑Driven Merchandising and Automation
Lead an AI‑first partnership with WSI’s Tech, Product, and Analytics teams to design and scale automation that optimizes product setup, pricing, and merchandising.
Collaborate with data science and engineering to build intelligent systems for product curation, markdown optimization, and inventory allocation.
Drive adoption of AI tools and workflows to reduce manual overhead and improve speed‑to‑market.
Identify and prioritize automation opportunities that deliver measurable business and operational impact.
Operations & Supply Chain Collaboration
Partner closely with Supply Chain and Operations teams to design efficient processes for product dispositioning, allocation, and flow into the Online Outlet channel.
Build systems and tools that automate and optimize outlet inventory management, ensuring the right products reach the right customers quickly and profitably.
Collaborate on end‑to‑end operational workflows — from fulfillment and logistics to returns and re‑commerce — that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Anticipate and proactively address operational challenges to maintain high standards of execution and cost control.
User Experience & Optimization
Own the end‑to‑end digital experience for Online Outlet customers — ensuring a seamless, brand‑right, and conversion‑optimized journey.
Partner with UX, design, and analytics teams to test new interface concepts, search and browse experiences, and personalization levers.
Use data and customer insights to identify pain points and translate them into actionable improvements.
Balance creativity and technical rigor to craft experiences that are both efficient and inspiring.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Execution
Build deep partnerships across engineering, analytics, merchandising, operations, and brand teams to drive alignment and execution.
Act as the connective tissue between the creative and technical sides of the organization — translating vision into scalable systems and processes.
Collaborate with senior leaders to align outlet growth with broader brand strategies and corporate goals.
Manage a lean team while tapping into the vast resources of WSI’s technology and data ecosystem.
Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of experience in digital commerce, product management, or merchandising operations — with demonstrated success leading cross‑functional initiatives.
Proven ownership of P&L or major revenue‑driving business lines.
Strong technical acumen with experience partnering closely with engineering, data science, or analytics teams.
Proven ability to design and execute automation strategies in large‑scale digital environments.
Strong understanding of supply chain operations and their intersection with digital commerce.
Exceptional analytical skills; experience using data and experimentation to drive business performance.
Creative mindset with a strong sense of brand and user experience.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across diverse teams.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, solving complex problems, and working at the intersection of business and technology.
This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco, California office Monday through Thursday.
