Oklo Inc
Director/Senior Director of Project Management
We are searching for a Director or Senior Director of Project Management to join our team at Oklo Inc.
Position Description We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director or Senior Director of Project Management to lead project delivery across our first‑of‑a‑kind (FOAK) nuclear powerhouses, fuel plants, radioisotope production facilities, and supporting infrastructure. This role will be instrumental in building and managing Oklo’s project management function to ensure that our deployments are delivered safely on spec, on time, on budget, and in full compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
The successful candidate will establish and scale Oklo’s project management office (PMO), creating consistent governance, processes, and tools to ensure delivery across a portfolio of projects from development to construction to operations. You will oversee full‑lifecycle project management—including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, execution, and turnover—while also supporting contract negotiations and commercial alignment. You’ll also work collaboratively with Oklo’s engineering, product, construction, procurement & supply chain management, regulatory, finance, and business development teams for successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of large‑scale capital project delivery in the power, energy, industrial, or nuclear sectors, with experience managing EPC firms, contractors, and regulators. This is a unique opportunity to have a highly visible, high‑impact role in advanced nuclear energy with regular engagement across Oklo’s executive leadership, Board of Directors, customers, and government stakeholders.
This role reports to Oklo’s Chief Financial Officer with a strong dotted line to the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Engineering Officer.
Specific Responsibilities
Lead delivery of Oklo’s FOAK and follow‑on projects, including powerhouses and fuel plants, across all phases: planning, construction, commissioning, and handover to operations
Develop & implement standard project methodologies, templates, and tools, and provide coaching and support on their application to ensure consistency across all projects
Establish and manage Oklo’s PMO, including governance, decision gates, and standardized processes to ensure consistent execution across projects
Manage a portfolio of concurrent projects at varying stages of development
Own integrated project schedules, budgets, and risk registers for all projects
Create project budgets and financial forecasts with the support of project accounting and control staff
Track project progress, metrics, and deadlines to ensure projects stay on schedule and within approved budgets
Provide regular, comprehensive reporting to senior management, executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders on project status, risks, and opportunities
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Regulatory, Finance, and Business Development teams to align project delivery with business objectives
Identify, assess, and manage risks for projects, developing strategies to mitigate issues and threats
Support negotiation and management of key project contracts (EPC, equipment supply, O&M, and PPAs), ensuring execution aligns with commercial terms
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and permitting obligations across all projects
Recruit, develop, and lead a high‑performing project management team to support multiple parallel deployments
Drive continuous improvement in project execution processes, systems, and tools to enable scalability across future reactor deployments
Build a high‑functioning project management team of Oklo and third‑party staff that can be deployed across the organization
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of project management experience with a proven track record delivering capital projects in power, energy, industrial, or nuclear sectors
Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale EPC or construction projects, including budgets of $100M+
Strong knowledge of project controls (cost, schedule, earned value, risk) and project management systems (Primavera, MS Project, PMIS platforms)
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Proven ability to manage cross‑functional teams and external contractors
Excellent communication and leadership skills, including executive and Board‑level reporting
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with nuclear projects or other FOAK energy infrastructure deployments
Familiarity with DOE, NRC, and other regulatory agencies
Startup or high‑growth company experience
Competencies
Passionate about making advanced nuclear a reality
Willing and able to learn quickly
Willing to think differently and do things in new ways
Comfortable in a fast‑paced, highly iterative startup environment
