Job Summary This position is responsible for duties such as cashiering, stocking, ordering, reports, and cleaning. Tobacco Manager provides excellent customer service and assists in maintaining excellent daily store conditions.
Responsibilities
Operates a cash register efficiently and performs checkout procedures at or above expected performance standards, including accurate handling/counting of cash, debit cards, credit cards, coupons and checks.
Follows all check‑out and cash handling procedures and policies.
Keeps the tobacco area neat and presentable, stocking snacks and drinks, sweeping, cleaning counters, changing trash, and performing outside cleaning as needed.
Provides excellent customer service.
Checks the identification of all customers attempting to purchase tobacco products; customers must be 21 years of age or older.
Ensures all policies and procedures are being followed; works with the Store Manager on hiring and disciplinary matters. This position cannot make employment decisions.
Tobacco managers not associated with a grocery store are responsible for making employment decisions with the assistance of the Tobacco Director (for locations: Berea, Lebanon, KY; Southland; Circleville; and Campbellsville).
Manages timesheets, daily and weekly reports, and ordering.
Qualifications
Customer service orientation and willingness to deal with people daily.
Ability to manage orders, schedules, retail invoices, and ensure accurate billing.
Ability to count money and make accurate change.
Ability to work assigned shifts and arrive to work on time.
Ability to clean and straighten product when no customers need assistance.
Flexibility in schedules – we are a seven‑day a week operation with weekend and evening hours.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, frequently bend, lift, squat, lean, and reach.
Must successfully complete a background check and drug test.
This independent retail partner location is independently owned and operated by a licensee.
