Job Description Summary

The Military Maintenance & Sustainment Test Leader will lead the development and implementation of strategies to plan and execute GE Aerospace Edison Works propulsion system test support capabilities. This role encompasses all aspects of maintenance, logistics and sustainment activities required to ensure seamless engine testing operations within an Integrated Product Support (IPS) framework. You will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating maintenance and sustainment‑related disruptions to engine testing and test campaigns. The ideal candidate is a motivated self‑starter who excels in dynamic, fast‑paced environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

Identify maintenance and sustainment requirements and strategies to enable military propulsion system testing and test campaigns

Develop detailed maintenance and sustainment technical planning which accounts for cost, schedule, and technical execution

Establish and lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and working groups with internal and external (airframe integrators, military personnel) stakeholders

Lead the authoring of deliverables and technical documents which captures GE Aerospace’s approach to fulfilling maintenance and sustainment requirements

Lead the identification of, and monitor the procurement of spare parts required to ensure test campaigns continue uninterrupted

Support the hiring, training, and deployment of Field Service Representatives (FSRs) who will either directly or indirectly report to this position

Support the identification of unique maintenance facility requirements required to enable test objectives

Support the identification of training requirements and the authoring of training related to propulsion system maintenance

Collaborate with the Technical Publications IPT to ensure all technical data is authored and published to support test maintenance activities

Collaborate with the Support Equipment IPT to ensure all support equipment is designed, qualified, and delivered to support test maintenance activities

Work cross-functionally with Maintainability, Reliability, Safety, Supportability, and Human Factors engineers

Partner with the Systems Engineering Test Leader to support engine testing

Provide oversight of and report the status of propulsion system during testing

Performs daily, weekly, and monthly management utilizing GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK principles to drive team progress and achieve defined program milestones and objectives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college + Minimum of 5 years of identifying maintenance and sustainment requirements and strategies to enable military propulsion system testing and test campaigns.

Familiarity with U.S. military organizations, maintenance and sustainment processes and procedures, and the DoD’s IPS elements

Familiarity with turbine engine systems and demonstrated knowledge of logistics and sustainment processes for military turbine engines

Familiarity with military aircraft, engine, or aerospace testing requirements and processes

Minimum of 8 years of experience related to the role responsibilities

Minimum of 6 years of military or DoD related industry experience

Minimum of 4 years of relevant propulsion system experience

Ability to work full-time, on-site at GE Aerospace headquarters in Cincinnati, OH; due to security requirements there are very limited work from home or remote opportunities

Ability to travel to customer sites as needed (estimated 10% travel requirement)

This role is restricted to U.S. Citizens

Must have or qualify for a U.S. Government Secret Clearance

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export‑controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university

Direct experience working with, or for the U.S. military in the maintenance, operation, testing, or sustainment of aircraft or propulsion systems

Prior military experience as a maintenance officer or enlisted aircraft maintenance technician (tactical aircraft maintenance and aerospace propulsion highly desired)

Experience with maintenance or sustainment of 5th generation military aircraft, such as the F-22 or F-35

Experience in either developmental or operational testing of military systems, including Integrated Test & Evaluation (IT&E) and Initial Operational Test & Evaluation (IOT&E)
