Overview Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long‑term, low‑cost provider of American‑produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana‑based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long‑term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Venture Global’s modular, mid‑scale plant design replaces traditional designs with the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

Responsibilities

Develop, qualify, and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder continuity logs in accordance with relevant codes (e.g., ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104).

Review and approve welding procedures, weld maps, and inspection and test plans (ITPs) to ensure they meet project specifications and code requirements.

Interpret and fully understand code calculations.

Review and interpret non‑destructive testing (NDT) results, including RT, UT, MT, and PT.

Evaluate the validity and acceptability of all inspection and test results, issuing non‑conformance reports when necessary.

Provide expert guidance and technical support to welding personnel, engineers, and project managers on complex welding and quality issues.

Troubleshoot welding process problems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Serve as the technical leader on welding repairs and defect resolution.

Oversee and manage the contractor welder qualification and certification program.

Train and mentor third‑party inspectors on best practices, code requirements, and advanced techniques.

Create and deliver training content on welding and fabrication projects for new welders.

Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all welding procedures, certifications, inspections, and quality metrics.

Communicate inspection findings, quality issues, and recommended process improvements to management and other stakeholders.

Ensure all welding activities are performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.

Stay current on industry trends, innovations, and changes to codes and standards to keep the company’s procedures up‑to‑date.

Act as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) as needed to perform visual inspections of welds throughout fabrication and on final products.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in industrial technology or engineering; equivalent experience may substitute.

Minimum of 10 years in the Quality & Welding field with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities preferred.

In‑depth knowledge of welding processes and proven experience with large‑scale EPC projects.

Ability to perform multiple tasks, work within project deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties used in LNG facilities.

Mentoring capabilities through technical training and guidance.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, Civil/Structural plans and details, Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Piping Isometrics, etc.

Comprehensive knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices.

Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and related workproducts.

Strong knowledge of API Q1, ISO 9001, international quality standards, and technical matters related to ASME and API codes.

Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, computing, technical, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.

SCWI or CWI

NDT Certifications (Level II or III)
