Job Description Under moderate supervision, performs clerical activities to support clinical operations including customer service, telephone management, scheduling, registration, and copay collections. Ensures provider schedules are populated, telephones managed, and registration information captured before or during each patient visit.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls; provides general information in person and on the telephone.

Calls patients to verify appointments.

Verifies patient demographic information including insurance verification prior to patient visit for all pre‑scheduled patients; performs data entry and types letters and faxes as needed.

Registers all patients at each visit using policies for complete and up‑to‑date patient and insurance information; documents patient responsible payments including co‑payments and past balances.

Schedules patients for physician visits and maintains appointment calendars.

Processes referral requests by physicians and patients promptly and according to clinic procedures.

Notifies clinical personnel of patient arrival.

Maintains entry log of incoming visitors.

Processes and delivers departmental mail.

Maintains medical records in accordance with protocols.

Discharges each patient via established policies, including charge entry, scheduling future appointments, facilitating ancillary procedures, and providing receipts.

Travels between sites as required based on coverage needs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

One year of customer service experience required.

One year of front‑desk experience preferred.

Experience within a healthcare environment preferred.

Certification in scheduling and registration preferred.

Compensation

Full-Time; Days M-F (8am-4:30pm)

Pay Range: $17-25.99/hr.
