Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for performing all inventory and order fulfillment activities related to sales orders, ensuring timely and accurate shipments to domestic and international customers. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Material Handler must be self‑motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively to maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

Locate and pick materials accurately according to pick lists or work orders following standard operating procedures

Prepare, package, and label multiple line item orders for domestic and international shipment

Manage on‑time delivery of customer orders by ensuring all items are picked and processed before scheduled ship dates

Perform shipping functions using scanners and barcode systems to ensure inventory accuracy

Communicate low inventory levels, material discrepancies, and quality issues proactively to supervisors

Ensure parts are safely packaged to prevent damage, verify part numbers, and confirm counts prior to shipment

Schedule and coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.)

Process outgoing mail using mail center equipment as required

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; remove waste materials and maintain equipment in good condition

Uphold and promote safety culture through awareness, observation, and reporting of hazards

Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives within the department

Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Finished Goods teams to meet customer needs

Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required

1-3 years of experience in an order fulfillment or shipping environment

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities effectively

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills

Ability to identify issues, implement improvements, and complete tasks with minimal oversight

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn and operate warehouse management systems and handheld scanners

Familiarity with UPS and FedEx shipping software preferred

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order processing

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a positive, professional attitude

Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines

Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities

Physical Requirements

Frequently lift or carry up to 25 lbs

Occasionally bend, stoop, or kneel (up to 2 hours per day)

Frequently push or pull up to 50 lbs

Stand, sit, or walk for up to 8 hours per day

Perform fine close work and operate handheld scanning devices

Work Environment

Regular exposure to chemicals or solvents (personal protective equipment provided as required)

May require eye protection depending on task

Fast‑paced warehouse or manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels

Additional Job Details This is a temp-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in order fulfillment and shipping operations, strong computer skills, and high attention to detail. Proficiency with UPS and FedEx shipping systems is highly preferred.
